The Tapp 18 - E-Commerce Website Launch

Kmarks Solutions is all about helping businesses like yours succeed!

Overview

Two (2) weeks prior to the release of the premiere of HGTV’s Home Town Takeover. Tabita Powe, the owner of Tapp 18 boutique in downtown Wetumpka, visited Kmarks Web & Computer Solutions requesting help with the development of a new online boutique shop. Tabita admitted, the producers of the show encourage her to have a website up and runner before the premiere.

Tell us about your project. Let’s collaborate and make real results.

Challenges

Typically, Kmarks would not take on a short-term project requiring additional resources from their development team.  Tabita pleaded for support and Kmarks team delivery one day after the requested deadline.

Following the premiere of HGTV’s Home Town Takeover, The Tapp18 experienced a sudden surge in national attention and website traffic. The existing eCommerce setup was not fully prepared to handle the spike in online orders, creating risks of system slowdowns, missed purchases, and customer frustration.

Store owner Tabitha Powe urgently needed technical support to stabilize the online shopping experience and ensure orders could be processed smoothly during a critical sales window. Any delay risked lost revenue and missed opportunities at a pivotal moment for the business.

Solutions

It was all hands on deck at The Tapp18 on Tuesday, May 4, as fellow downtown Wetumpka business owners gathered at the boutique to help owner Tabatha Powe package and ship countless online orders.

It was two days after the premiere of HGTV’s Home Town Takeover and just one day after The Tapp18’s website went live, and the boutique was on the brink of completely selling out. After watching the boutique’s transformation on Home Town Takeover, people from across the nation were eager to get their hands on some merchandise.

“I called Rachel early this morning for her help with my online shopping system, but at the time I didn’t know the store was selling out,” Powe said on Tuesday. “I didn’t know until shortly after that when Ken Smith, who created and manages my website called me and said, ‘you know you’re sold out, right?’”
