Welcome to Wetumpka Chamber, the City of Natural Beauty. Wetumpka is a city in and the county seat of Elmore County, Alabama, United States. “Located in Central Alabama, Wetumpka, which is Alabama’s third fastest growing county. Wetumpka offers small-town living with the convenience of big-city amenities only minutes away in Montgomery.” In 2019 a tornado caused significant damage to Wetumpka beautiful downtown area. In 2021, still in the mist of the town’s renovations. It was announced that Wetumpka, Alabama, had beaten out 2,600 other U.S. small towns to be chosen for the starring role in HGTV Home Town Takerover.

As a downtown business Kmarks Web & Computer Solutions was selected to re-design the chambers website.
Our first goal was to properly register the city with an official government domain. WETUMPKA was registered on a .com site. .GOV domains are top-level domain (TLD) that was established to make it easy to identify US- based government organizations on the internet.
Secondly, the city needed a fresh up to date mobile friendly design that supported all devices. As required by government sites, it needed to be 508 compliant for user with disabilities. The city leadership required alerts for emergency notices and council member meeting notifications and agendas.
We were successful in developing a government website that is consistent, accessible, and current. Some of the most important elements of our accomplishment was:
