The Housing Authority of the City of Alexander City (ACHA) was established in 1966 as a non-profit organization by the State of Alabama. ACHA’s mission is to offer decent, safe, and sanitary housing to low-income residents of Alexander City. The authority operates under a contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor.
